Team Leader – Complex Needs Supported Living

Pay: £15.25 per hour 36 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

SDR is looking for an experienced Team Leader or Senior Support Worker to join our new specialist supported living service in Lancing.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, leading a small team and providing truly person‑centred support.

You will support a young adult with autism, a learning disability, epilepsy and complex health needs, helping to create a safe, positive and engaging home where they can develop their independence and enjoy the things they love.

About the role

As Team Leader, you will work alongside your team to provide high-quality, consistent and person‑centred support.

You will help ensure the individual receives the right support to live a fulfilling life, while providing day‑to‑day leadership and guidance to the staff team.

The individual enjoys being outdoors, music, water play, trampolining and building positive relationships, so we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative and able to bring energy and positivity to the role.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, supporting and motivating a small team of Support Workers.

Providing person‑centred care and support.

Supporting an individual with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex needs.

Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and health protocols are followed.

Promoting independence, dignity, choice and positive outcomes.

Supporting staff with their development, supervision and day‑to‑day practice.

Working positively with families, healthcare professionals and other professionals.

Maintaining accurate records and ensuring high standards of care.

Helping to create a safe, structured and positive home environment.

About you

You may currently be working as a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or experienced Support Worker and be ready to take the next step.

You’ll ideally have:

Experience supporting people with autism and learning disabilities.

Experience supporting people with complex needs.

Previous leadership or senior‑level experience.

Ideally, experience supporting someone with epilepsy.

Confidence supporting and developing other staff.

Good communication and organisational skills.

A calm, positive and person‑centred approach.

A full UK driving licence.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who genuinely enjoys supporting people and wants to make a positive difference every day.

• 29 days annual leave pro rata, including Bank Holidays
