Darlish is an award-winning Middle Eastern-inspired ice cream brand with a loyal following for Persian flavours like Saffron, Rose & Pistachio and Tahini. Since 2016, Darlish has built a close-knit community around flavour, hospitality and beautiful design across London and Hertfordshire. Now Darlish is building its flagship parlour in Notting Hill, on Westbourne Park Road, directly opposite the iconic blue door — a site designed to become one of London’s most talked-about dessert destinations.
This role is for someone who wants to be more than a team member: someone ready to lead a shift, raise standards, and help shape the atmosphere guests remember.
What you’ll do
- You’ll be the person who sets the tone on shift. Every day, you’ll help lead the floor, support the team, and make sure the parlour feels calm, polished and full of energy from open to close.
- Lead from the front — greet guests with warmth, bring confidence to the floor, and make sure service feels smooth, personal and memorable.
- Own the shift — whether you’re opening, closing, or leading a busy afternoon rush, you’ll take responsibility for standards, pace, cleanliness and team coordination.
- Scoop with pride — uphold presentation, portioning and product quality, even when the queue is out the door.
- Tell the story — confidently explain flavours, ingredients and allergens, and help guests discover what makes Darlish special.
- Coach in the moment — keep the team focused, support newer staff, and step in quickly when standards slip.
- Handle the detail — complete temperature checks, support stock counts, oversee POS accuracy, and make sure checklists are properly completed.
- Protect the experience — deal with customer complaints positively, solve problems quickly, and make sure guests leave wanting to come back.
About you
Experience
- You’ve worked in hospitality, retail, cafés, dessert shops or another customer-facing environment where pace and service matter.
- You may already be a Supervisor, Shift Leader or senior team member — or you may simply be the person everyone naturally looks to when things get busy.
- You’re confident working independently and making decisions on the floor.
Character & behaviours
- Guest-obsessed — you notice people, read the room, and understand that great hospitality is in the small things.
- Positive energy — you bring calm, warmth and momentum to a shift, and people enjoy working with you.
- Detail-oriented — cleanliness, allergen awareness and consistency genuinely matter to you.
- Natural leader — you can give direction, hold standards and keep morale high without creating drama.
- Coachable and ambitious — you want feedback, you improve quickly, and you’re ready for more responsibility.
Flexibility
You’re available for evenings and weekends, because that’s when dessert comes alive and the parlour is at its busiest. You’re comfortable working on a casual / zero-hours basis, with shifts offered according to business need.
