Do you have a passion for creating beautiful spaces? Would you like to play a key role in planning and implementing design ideas within a busy hospitality group? This part time role could be ideal for you.
Creative flair is crucial in this role and we’re looking for someone who can confidently present their ideas (if you love a good moodboard, this is the role for you!). In addition to leading the design direction for our unique range of venues (primarily for the hotels, accommodation and working spaces departments), you will be a key player in exciting project work, sourcing and ordering the items that bring each space to life. With training, you can also grow into producing floor plans, furniture layouts and visual renderings using Vectorworks, AI and Photoshop, so no prior experience with these programs is needed.
Key details for the Design and Purchasing Lead position:
Pay: £13.50 - £14.40 per hour (experience dependent), plus a bonus package of up to £1,200 per annum on-target earnings
Hours: Part time, 16 hours per week. These hours will ideally be worked over 3-4 short days, including Wednesday and Thursday. We can, however, be flexible with this to suit individual requirements (i.e. the hours may also be spread over 2 days where preferred).
Location: Based at our head office, including visits to our sites around Clifton. Very occasional travel if needed for research purposes.
Please note: It is essential that you can attend our Projects Meetings (4.30-6.30pm) on the first Thursday and the third Wednesday of the month.
Start date: Flexible - ASAP or after notice
Key responsibilities of our Design and Purchasing Lead:
Reporting to our Projects and Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design direction of new and current projects
- Creating and maintaining mood boards for each venue, so design decisions stay in line with the overarching identity of the product
- Sourcing both “day to day” and one-off project items for our hotels, suites and workspaces
- Completing and maintaining buying lists for projects
- Sourcing items within budget and suggesting budgets for proposed projects
- Presenting design proposals and sourced items for sign-off by Senior Management and the company owner
- Placing orders for projects and non-routine purchases (e.g. a new coffee table for a hotel reception)
- Liaising with unit managers on design and procurement decisions for their unit

- Building strong supplier relationships to secure the best price and a positive ongoing partnership
- Working to KPI targets
- Upon completion of training (if required): updating floor plans, proposing furniture layouts and producing visual renderings of your design ideas using Vectorworks, AI and Photoshop
