The site is performing well and has built a strong rhythm. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who can continue to lead from the floor, build trust with the team, and drive excellence through respect, structure, and positivity.

Role Responsibilities
As our Assistant Manager, you will support taking ownership of the cafe’s performance, culture, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading by Example: Maintain an enthusiastic, engaged, and passionate approach to food and excellent service. Lead from the floor with a hands‑on approach, setting the tone for professionalism, quality, efficiency, and positivity at all times.
Floor & Service Leadership: Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the cafe and effectively manage the front‑of‑house operations. Ensure service standards remain consistently high, delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Customer Service Excellence: Drive and maintain exceptional customer service standards. Build strong rapport with regular customers and ensure all guest interactions reflect warmth.
Staff Training & Development: Support in training and developing all staff to the highest standards, with a particular focus on:
Exceptional Customer Service Standards
Full understanding of allergens
Adherence to Health & Safety regulations
Team Leadership & Communication: Emphasise the importance of teamwork across Front of House and Kitchen. Encourage initiative, accountability, and collaboration. Ensure clear daily communication through prep lists and handovers.
Sales & Financial Performance: Drive the team to increase upselling and maximise revenue.
Stock Management & Supplier Relations: Assist in regular stocktakes. Ensure efficient ordering and clear communication with suppliers and the kitchen team.
Cleanliness & Compliance: Ensure the cafe consistently maintains the highest levels of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene. Oversee daily opening and closing checklists. Monitor and manage pest control checks with agreed suppliers.
Supportive Administration & Organisation:
Manage ordering and menu updates
Approve timesheets
Support in recruitment, including interviews and trial shifts
Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Proven experience in a similar Assistant Manager role within hospitality.
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
A hands‑on leadership style with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees, management, and customers.
A positive, resilient, and solutions‑focused mindset.
Strong organisational and financial management skills.
Experience working in a high‑volume environment.
Great spoken and written English communication skills.
