Duties and Responsibilities * Provide students with sound clinical programs to meet their Occupational Therapy needs as outlined on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) * Conduct clinical programs in individual and/or group sessions as per the IEP * Provide on-going consultation, training, and support for classroom staff to carry over therapeutic programs * Provide students with appropriate sensory motor programs * Work cooperatively with team members in the evaluation and development of prescriptive feeding programs designed to improve oral motor abilities * Attend various discipline related meetings and in-services (e.g. team meetings, department meetings, program meetings, staff development days) * Work closely with parents to provide appropriate home programs * Work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and implementing goals and recommendations for each student * Design and/or obtain adaptive positioning systems necessary to provide proper alignment and facilitate independent movement patterns (e.g. wheel chairs, standers) * Participate in the design and/or modification of adaptive equipment or devices (e.g. utensils, switches) * Maintain written documentation in accordance with departmental and agency regulations * Understand the psychological, social and medical characteristics of the population served * Provide clinical instruction for future therapists * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy * NYS Occupational Therapy license (or in pursuit of) Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Occupational Therapy * Prior experience in Occupational Therapy EEO Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
