The role

This is a senior position with three clear strands: running quality work, growing the business, and building the team around you. You will:

  • Lead on high-value and complex residential transactions — freehold, leasehold, lease extensions, shared ownership, new builds and Help to Buy
  • Mentor, coach and supervise junior conveyancers and legal assistants, reviewing work and driving quality and compliance
  • Build lasting relationships with local estate agents, brokers and referral partners to grow referral volumes
  • Work alongside the Head of Residential, Commercial Director and operational support team to improve systems, workflows and technology — making the conveyancing journey clearer, quicker and easier for clients
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, guiding them from instruction to post-completion with clarity and empathy
  • Lead risk assessments on complex matters and ensure team-wide compliance with AML, GDPR and SRA regulations

About you

A qualified Conveyancing Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or senior conveyancer with deep experience in residential property law — registered and unregistered land, title checks, Land Registry applications and SDLT.

A confident drafter and negotiator of contracts, transfer deeds and mortgage documents.

A natural relationship-builder with estate agents and referral partners, with a track record of service excellence.

Experienced in mentoring and developing junior colleagues, with strong delegation and oversight skills.

Tech-positive: proficient with case management platforms and enthusiastic about piloting and implementing new tools.
