MANAGING QUANTITY SURVEYOR Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: Up to £85k + Package An established residential contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to become the No.2 commercial lead , supporting the Senior Commercial Manager in the delivery of major high-rise residential developments.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring robust commercial management across multiple projects, protecting profitability, managing risk, and supporting the commercial team throughout the project lifecycle.
Key
Responsibilities: Support the Senior Commercial Manager in the commercial delivery of high-rise residential developments.
Lead the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
Manage subcontract procurement, contract administration, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Prepare and review CVRs, cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly commercial reports.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to maximise project profitability.
Manage and mentor Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
Work closely with operational, design, procurement, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company commercial procedures.
Candidate
Requirements: Qualified Quantity Surveyor Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Project Quantity Surveyor on major residential developments.
Extensive experience delivering high-rise reinforced concrete frame residential projects .
Strong background working for design
