No.2 commercial lead , supporting the Senior Commercial Manager in the delivery of major high-rise residential developments.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring robust commercial management across multiple projects, protecting profitability, managing risk, and supporting the commercial team throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager in the commercial delivery of high-rise residential developments.
  • Lead the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, contract administration, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Prepare and review CVRs, cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly commercial reports.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to maximise project profitability.
  • Manage and mentor Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
  • Work closely with operational, design, procurement, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company commercial procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Project Quantity Surveyor on major residential developments.
  • Extensive experience delivering high-rise reinforced concrete frame residential projects .
  • Strong background working for design & build (D&B) contractors .
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial management, procurement, subcontract administration, and contract law.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred

  • Candidates available immediately or with no more than one month's notice will be strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on projects valued in excess of £30m.
