We’re partnering with a leading independent drinks business with a strong reputation across the UK On Trade sector. With an extensive portfolio spanning wine, spirits and premium drinks solutions, the business continues to grow through innovation, customer partnerships and category expertise.

As the company continues to strengthen its commercial presence within the hospitality channel, they’re now looking to appoint a Business Sector Controller (On Trade) to lead the development of key regional brewer relationships and independent On Trade customers.

The opportunity:

As Business Sector Controller (On Trade), you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of strategically important accounts across the regional brewer and independent On Trade channel. You’ll be responsible for developing customer growth plans, strengthening relationships at all levels and delivering profitable, sustainable growth in line with the wider commercial strategy. The role combines both strategic and field-based business development, requiring someone equally comfortable leading commercial conversations at head office level as they are building relationships within the trade. You’ll also play an important leadership role, supporting and developing an Account Manager while helping broaden the wider On Trade customer base.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong On Trade experience within FMCG or the drinks industry.
  • Wine industry experience is essential, with strong category and product knowledge.
  • Experience managing or developing customer-facing team members.
  • Proven commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to drive profitable growth.
  • Experience managing regional brewer or hospitality accounts highly advantageous.
  • WSET qualification or similar wine education desirable.

Stage 1: Introductory conversation, CV walkthrough and competency-based discussion.

Stage 2: Final interview with senior stakeholders including commercial and customer strategy discussion.

Salary: £70,000pa plus Car Allowance/Bonus/Bens.

Ways of working: Home based with travel as required.
