Role Purpose
The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager in the safe, effective and compliant delivery of homecare services. The role is predominantly field-based and involves providing direct operational oversight of care packages, supporting staff, maintaining quality standards and ensuring people we support receive person-centred, safe and effective care.

Hours of Work
40 hours per week worked flexibly to meet service needs. This role includes evenings, nights and weekend working and is not limited to Monday-Friday office hours.
Location
Primarily field-based across service areas with occasional working from the Muve Homecare office in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Quality Assurance
- Undertake regular spot checks on care packages to ensure quality compliance and person-centred practice
- Complete field-based supervisions and support staff development
- Monitor care delivery in line with care plans, risk assessments and CQC expectations
- Support the safe start-up of new care packages including staff support and on-site oversight
- Staff Support & Leadership
- Act as a point of contact for staff queries and operational issues
- Provide guidance and support to staff working with individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviours
- Promote best practice in line with company policies, PMVA guidance and safeguarding principles
- Reporting & Governance
- Complete accurate reports following spot checks, incidents and reviews
- Escalate concerns and provide clear feedback to the Registered Manager
- Work collaboratively with Clinical Leads to support complex packages
- Support compliance with CQC regulations including Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment)
- Systems & Administration
- Use digital care planning systems (e.g. Birdie) to review care records, observations and staff notes
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviours
- Experience working within homecare, supported living or community-based services
- Ability to work flexibly including nights and weekends
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage paid)
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and person-centred care
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a Deputy Manager, Senior or Lead role
- Experience using digital care planning systems such as Birdie
- PMVA (or equivalent) training
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
