A global banking client is hiring a VP-level Operational Resilience practitioner to help mature and embed resilience capabilities across the UK and Europe. This is a first line role within a structured team (ED, Director, VPs and AVPs) and is focused on practical implementation rather than advisory work.
The Role
- Lead key elements of the Operational Resilience framework, including:
- CIF / Important Business Services methodology β identifying the most critical parts of the bank
- Impact tolerances β defining how much disruption is unacceptable and aligning UK and EMEA approaches
- Scenario design and prioritisation β e.g. cyber outages, payments disruption, client impact during live incidents
- Direct involvement in scenario testing execution
- Supporting governance and improving stakeholder engagement
- Bringing stronger cadence and structure to reduce reactive fire-fighting
The focus is iterative improvement and embedding sustainable resilience capability across the region.
What Weβre Looking For
- Practical Operational Resilience experience within banking
- Strong understanding of CIF/IBS methodology and impact tolerance frameworks
- Experience implementing resilience capabilities end-to-end
- Evidence of sustained delivery ownership rather than short-term engagements
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and driving accountability
- Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
- Banking experience is essential from a regulatory and methodology perspective.
This is a visible VP opportunity for a hands-on resilience practitioner looking to lead meaningful capability development within a complex financial services environment.
