We are working on behalf of a leading health and life insurer to find a Software Asset Management Specialist or Analyst for a newly created role within their team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for building and developing processes in SAM, particularly with experience in managing complex software licensing environments.
About the Role:
The SAM Specialist will focus on managing software assets for a major vendor, working within a team to build the SAM process from the ground up. This role will give you the opportunity to work with multiple major vendors, such as IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft, and to collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams. You\’ll be expected to bring a strategic mindset to the role and help shape the software asset management function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of SAM processes for a key vendor.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Collaborate with external partners, including a project manager and data analysts, as well as offshore teams.
- Manage software licensing positions in data centre environments.
- Support the overall strategy and maturity of the SAM function within the organisation.
Requirements:
- Experience in SAM, with a strong focus on licensing.
- Proven experience with major vendors such as IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft.
- Understanding of data centre complexities related to software asset management.
- Self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Experience with SAM tools such as Xensam is highly desirable.
The Team and Environment:
