Our client is looking for a reliable and hardworking Fitter's Mate to join their growing team.

Working alongside experienced Steel Erectors and Fitters, you'll assist with the installation of structural steelwork and bespoke steel fabrications on sites across the UK.

This is a hands-on role that would suit someone with a practical mindset who enjoys site work, working with structural steel and is looking to build a long-term career within the engineering and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting Fitters with the installation and erection of structural steelwork and bespoke fabrications.
  • Preparing steelwork, tools and materials ready for installation.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely.
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Assisting with drilling, bolting, fitting and assembly of steel components.
  • Supporting site installations while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe.
  • Following all site health and safety procedures.
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK and working away from home when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within structural steel, construction, engineering, fabrication or site installation is desirable.
  • Valid CSCS Card (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Comfortable working away from home during the week when required due to the nature of the role.
  • Physically fit with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Able to work safely at customer sites and follow health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the business.
