We’re currently looking for a Chef/Cook to join a team that truly cares about each other, our residents, and the quality of life we provide. We believe life should be full of joy and purpose. What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals that are appealing, nutritious and centred around residents’ preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements, following Marton Care Homes’ Good Food Guide.
- Provide active encouragement and guidance for the team, ensuring a friendly, supportive working environment.
- Supervise and appraise the Kitchen Team.
- Interview applicants for vacancies within the Kitchen Team.
- Comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment within the home.
- Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the Food Safety Manual, ensuring all areas of the kitchen remain immaculately clean.
- Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved suppliers, maintaining stock rotation for optimum freshness.
- Maintain all kitchen equipment in safe working order, reporting any damage or faults and following up on appropriate actions.
- Contribute to team meetings and assist the Home Manager with selection, interviewing, induction and ongoing development of catering staff.
- Attend resident/relative meetings, monitor and assess residents’ satisfaction with the catering service, and respond positively to ideas and feedback.
