Structured Finance Analyst, Structured Finance Department (Project Finance) - City of London based, global Foreign Bank.
Experience in analysis or monitoring of European/UK social infrastructure, renewables, digital infrastructure within Front Office/Credit Risk would be ideal. The role is a mix of hybrid "working-from-home" and in the office, but for the initial 1-month of the contract, you will be required to be in the office x 5-days per week to receive full training and onboarding.
Our client is looking for someone to have at least 2 - 3 years’ experience of Project finance transactions, as a member of front office team, or a credit reviewer in the credit risk management area.
Principle Purpose of the Job:Monitor existing project finance transactions which have construction or financial difficulties. Conduct the entire due diligence (credit analysis) process on any new project finance transactions in any existing or new sectors.
Principle Elements of the Job:- Conduct the entire due diligence (credit analysis) on new project finance transactions in any sectors and make independent investment proposals for the Branch’s credit committee as well as credit committees in head office.
- Manage documentation process of project finance transactions with Branch’s legal team.
- Monitor existing project finance transactions that the Branch has invested in, especially if any projects have construction, operation, or financial difficulties and coordinate with credit department, other internal risk departments, external auditors and financial regulators.
- Apply internal credit ratings to project finance transactions regularly and on an ad-hoc basis if a credit event occurs.
- Attend lender meetings for monitoring purposes if needed.
- Obtain Branch management approval when necessary for borrower consent requests for lenders.
- Conduct research on various topics and produce reports on new sectors or countries, regulatory framework in Europe related to the Branch credit portfolio on an ad-hoc basis.
- Understand the Bank’s credit risk management framework, especially the Internal Rating System.
- Attend meetings with borrowers, sponsors, and FAs for deal sourcing and monitoring.
- Assist a middle-back team in Structured Finance Department with KYC at closing, funding request to the Branch’s treasury, and drawdown over the life of the loan.
- Assist the senior manager with internal Branch reporting when required.
- Update the Policy & Procedures of Structured Finance Department as needed and conduct regular/occasional internal self-checks.
- Provide general administrative support to the Senior Management.
