The Role Senior Asset Management Equity Trade Support (to become their “Equity Operations Manager”) – City of London This is an excellent and unique opportunity for a strong graduate calibre “Buyside senior Equity Trade Support Analyst”, who is looking to make their step-up to become an “Asset Management Equity Operations Manager.” Martis Search are representing a boutique City of London based and successful Equity Long focused, Institutional Asset Management company to hire a permanent “Senior Asset Management Equity Trade Support Analyst” with the view to either been offered an “Equity Operations Manager” role from the start, or to grow into the role after a short period of time i.e. 6-months. The company invest into Equity Long Trading strategies and the role sits on their Trading Floor next to the Front Office Investment team (CEO, Fund Managers, Investment Research Analysts and Sales & Marketing teams). The company are very stable, going through growth and have a proven YoY track-record/ very impressive $ AUM to boast of. The Equity Operations team is very small and the role reports into their COO. The chosen person will be responsible to either: Manage the small Equity Operations/ Equity Trade Support team from the very start. OR Learn the Equity Operations/ Equity Trade Support role for a short period of time i.e. up-to 6-months, with the view to then becoming their “Asset Management Equity Operations Manager.” OR Currently an “Asset Management Equity Operations Manager”, supervising a small team and looking for a new role i.e. a better package, to learn, or if your fund is not performing well. Due to the size of the firm, the role will be both hands-on and strategic, i.e. you will have to get your hands-on every day doing the Equity Trade Support duties, but also fully managing the small team of Operations Analysts, as well the entire work-flows and managing the relationships of all 3rd party external system providers, Custodians, Administrators etc. Lastly, you will also work closely with the COO to undertake and be responsible for all related Operations projects, having the proven experience in your current role writing technical Operations change documents that can be used by the IT departments to then code and create new processes (under your technical instruction). Our client is ideally looking for someone who is of Degree calibre, ideally with a 2:1, but our client will also look at a 2:2 in a numerate based subject, ideally Mathematics, Economics, Engineering (STEM subject) etc. You must either be from a “Buyside” Asset Management, or Hedge Fund background have a minimum of x 3-years Asset Management Equity Trade Support background. The asset-classes they trade are mainly global Cash Equities, but you will also be required to work with other asset-classes such as Futures & Options and FX trades. You will be involved with the full Trade-Life Cycle and Investment Operations responsibilities, as well as related project management/ change experience, including: Daily BAU tasks will include: Manage all Equity Trade Support & Operations – working closing with internal Fund Managers. Manage the Equity Operations team – including completing appraisals, setting targets and key deliverables (with help with the COO). Daily liaison and relationship building with Prime Brokers, custodians and Fund Administrators. Reconciliations: Daily cash and position Reconciliations. Liaising with Prime Brokers, Administrators and Custodians. Margin calls/returns and collateral management.
