Martis Search are representing a boutique, Mayfair based institution to hire a permanent multi-asset class Hedge Fund Operations/ Trade Support Analyst to grow into an Operations Manager. The role reports into their COO and is a growth opportunity. It involves managing a small team of Hedge Fund Operations/ Trade Support Analysts.
The position requires extensive Hedge Fund Operations experience (5-years + level), ideally across different Hedge Fund strategies, as well as a proven background with process change/projects and both the potential and desire to manage an Operations team in the near future under the guidance of their COO.
The role will be the COO’s right-hand person and requires fine attention-to-detail to help completely re-design their entire Operations department, as well as managing the existing team. This means checking daily workloads, ensuring they are producing accurate work, motivating staff, helping with new fund launches, delivering on related projects etc. This role will involve day-to-day Operations too.
The role is an excellent opportunity as it is a mix of Hedge Fund Operations/ Trade Support and Fund Administration/ Fund Accounting. The chosen incumbent will need a strong understanding of the trade-life cycle, as well as sound working knowledge of NAVs/ Valuations from working within a Hedge Fund.
Any experience of using coding languages such as VBA, Python, SQL, or PowerBI, or Tableau (to build Data Visualisation Management Information reports for Fund Managers) is highly advantageous, but not essential. The reports are used for Fund Managers to make investment decisions on and contain reports relating to NAVs/ Valuations, Performance Reporting etc.
Our client would prefer someone to have Hedge Fund, or boutique Asset Management Operations experience, with an understanding of the trade-life cycle, but would also be open to look at Operations experience across any type of Financial Services sector, with the view of training across the Hedge Fund sectors, related asset classes and strategies.
Our client supports Operations across multi-asset class Hedge Fund support across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, OTC & ETD Derivatives, Commodities, across multiple different Hedge Fund strategies such as Equity Long/ Short, Fixed Income, Global Macro, Event Driven to name but a few.
The role is 4-days in the office and 1 day working-from-home. This is why this is such a great opportunity to get solid Hedge Fund Operations experience. The role will involve a mix of daily Hedge Fund Operations.
Operational tasks include:
- Trade Booking/ Trade Capture/ the full trade life-cycle
- Settlements
- Cash, Stock & PnL Reconciliations
- NAV Valuations (Reconciliations/ Calculations)
- PnL
- Liaising with Prime Brokers
- Treasury Operations
- Related project work
Salary £70 k pa - £80 k pa, dependent upon experience, plus annual discretionary bonus, pension, Healthcare etc.
