The Role
Loans Administration – Senior Officer (Transactional) – City of London based global Bank
Martis Search is representing a global Bank, to hire a permanent "Loans Administration Senior Officer (Transactional).”
The company is going through a successful growth stage in 2025 within their Loans business and as a result need to hire within their Loans Operations department.
The company is based in The City of London and the bank has global locations. The position sits within their Loans Operations department and reports into their Loans Administration Manager.
The role provides Loans Operational support for their Lending, Corporate Banking, Current Account, Business Deposits, Corporate FX customers for all Bilateral and Syndicated Loan facilities.
The role is also hybrid (within a x 4-week period, x 8-days employees are allowed to work from home, so you will be able to work-from home, as well as in the office). The company offers great overtime rates and also a pension. It is a friendly bank to work for and a safe a secure environment.
JOB PURPOSE
To assist with the day-to-day administration of loan facilities to UK and overseas corporate customers.
To assist with the day-to-day administration of lending, current account, deposit and Corporate FX business for bilateral customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- All aspects of loans admin processing – rollovers, rate fixing, drawdowns etc for syndicated, bilateral and agency loans
- To assist with the day-to-day administration of loans, deposits, corporate FX deals and current account movements including the preparation and input of system tickets, the calculation, claiming and reconciliation of fees and interest, the preparation of communication slips and informal liaison with Global Markets staff regarding daily funding requirements of assigned loans and deposits.
- To prepare and send confirmations, statements, reports, and certificate of balances to customers. Ensuring due consideration and adherence to the important of the Electronic Communications Policy of the branch.
- To receive instructions from bilateral customers and act upon these in the appropriate manner.
- To undertake initial “first-checking” duties in relation to work prepared by subordinate(s), thus alleviating the burden on the Assistant Manager.
- To possess an increasing appreciation/understanding of a greater number of aspects of the department’s work – e.g.: credit reviews and ratings, repayment schedule maintenance
- To play a significant role in the monthly reporting function of the Department, assisting with P/L reporting, various reconciliations, the monitoring of fees, updating of pending item forms and preparation of monthly Pending Items reported to Management and Head Office.
- To assist with the continuing development of any junior Loan Administration staff.
- To minimize the occurrence of operational incidents through a conscientious approach to daily duties and to ensure any relevant issues are reported to the Loan Administration Manager or Assistant Manager in timely fashion.
- To liaise with Loan Administration Departments of other banks regarding instructions under syndicated transactions and occasionally with the branch’s Global Banking Unit departments
- To carry out such other duties as requested by the Loan Administration Manager and or Assistant Manager.
- To carry out such other duties at the request of the Head of Department.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years’ Loan Administration or Loan Agency experience required, with other Banking experience also desirable
- Strong proven loans admin skills covering syndicated and bilateral loans gained within banking is essential
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to delivering error-free results under pressure.
- Capable of interpreting legal loan documentation and understanding treasury funding mechanisms
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to process development and mentoring junior staff.
- Effective communicator across all levels and audiences, internally and externally.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as a team player
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum A-level qualifications
Knowledge and experience of formatting Swift messages desired.
Advanced Excel and/or Access skills desired but not required
Knowledge and experience of LoanIQ is desired due to ongoing system migration project.
Salary
£50 k pa – £65 k pa plus Bonus, Pension, Private Medical Care, Health checks, Wellbeing allowances and Life Assurance.
