The Role

Generalist Compliance Officer/Senior Officer – City of London Bank

Martis Search are representing a City of London Bank to hire a permanent \”Generalist Compliance Officer/Senior Officer.\”

The role is a mix of hybrid \”working-from-home\” and in the office, but for the initial 1-month of the contract, you will be required to be in the office x 5-days per week to receive full training and onboarding etc.

Our client is looking for someone to have at least 5-years\’ experience in a Regulatory Compliance role in a reputable Bank that covers General Compliance duties in Data Protection and the PRA/ FCA Outsourcing and Third-Party risk management.

Main purpose of the role:

• Support the Head of Compliance and ensure comply with the law and regulations in line with the regulatory expectations of the UK regulators.
• Assist with UK Data Protection Regulations as well as PRA/FCA Outsourcing and third-party risk management.
• Provide Training and guidance to staff.
• Perform Compliance monitoring programmes and report testing findings.
• Undertake administrative and other operational tasks in the Compliance department.
• Assist with implementation plans for internal policy and procedure changes resulting from legal or regulatory change affecting the Branch and monitor their performance against these plans.
• Assist and support monitoring activities relating to the following: Conduct Risk, Depositor Protection/Single Customer View, Operational Resilience, Treating Customers Fairly and other regulatory risks as directed by the Head of Compliance.
• Prepare Compliance reports on assigned tasks and support the department in the preparation of reports for the branch senior management.
• Review the internal branch framework on compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and provide advice to the branch staff on requirements for compliance with the regulatory requirements

What our client is looking for:

• Understanding of Risk Management Framework
• Knowledge of FCA Conduct Rules, PRA/FCA requirements on Operational Resilience would be desirable.
• Good understanding of regulation and ability to work closely with the Head of Compliance to review and implement relevant systems and controls.
• A \”Hands-on\” approach to the role, showing initiative to assist with projects.
• Experience of preparing regulatory returns to the FCA.

Your experience must include:

A strong proven experience in Regulatory Compliance gained within banking – including compliance regarding Data Protection, PRA/ FCA Outsourcing and third-party risk management

Excellent presentation skills – both oral and written

Good understanding of PRA/ FCA, Senior Managers & Certification Regime, regulatory reporting and risk management framework

Strong IT skills

Salary

Between £65 k pa – £78 k pa dependent upon experience, plus annual discretionary bonus, a very good pension, excellent holiday entitlement and work hours, healthcare, life assurance etc.
