Martis Search is representing a global Bank, to hire an ongoing “Equity, Fixed Income & FXTransaction Processing Clerk” temp.
This is an entry-level “School Leaver”/ “GCSE”, or “A Level leaver” role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has finished school, not decided to go university, but is looking for an opportunity to get your first proper job in The City, into the world of Financial Services.
The company is based in The City of London and the bank has global locations. The position sits within a sub-division within one of their Transaction Processing teams and is a specific role that relates to “Transaction Processing”.
The role is also hybrid (within a 4-week period, 8 days employees are allowed to work from home, so you will be able to work-from, as well as in the office). The company offers great overtime rates and also a pension. It is a friendly bank to work for and a safe a secure environment.
Purpose of the role
To ensure all clients’ cash instructions are processed in an accurate and timely manner in line with global custodian, prime broker and reporting deadlines.
To ensure all client instructions to settle global equity or fixed income trades are processed withinGAS (UK) systems in an efficient and timely manner and are settled promptly in the local market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure all client instructions (Trades, Cash, FX) are processed within the GAS (UK) systems in a timely
- and accurate manner and the Global Sub custodian / Prime brokers are instructed accordingly.
- To ensure all pending trades are monitored on a daily basis and all relevant action is taken to enable prompt settlement.
- To ensure clients are advised promptly the status of their trades.
- To pro-actively monitor all failed trades and ensure they settle at the earliest opportunity.
- To ensure client queries are investigated and answered within 24 hours.
- To ensure client portfolios are updated promptly and accurately in order to dispatch reports/SWIFT advices within the specified deadline.
- To review cash reconciliation report on a daily basis and investigate/resolve outstanding items.
- To review asset reconciliation report on a daily basis and investigate/resolve outstanding items
- To effectively resolve and report operational errors, ensuring that any issues are escalated to the Operations Manager, and all interested parties are advised in good time. To also consider and propose preventative measures to avoid a recurrence of the error.
- To identify areas where efficiencies within the department can be improved upon and suggest relevant changes to operational procedures.
- To advise the Operations management of any performance related issues concerning either our clients or sub custodian network.
- To carry out such other duties as requested by Operations management and the Unit General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 GCSE’s at grade C and above, including Maths & English.
Takes pride in their work and understands the importance of taking care to ensure work is produced to a high standard.
Exemplary attitude i.e. eager to learn, works well within a team, inquisitive and self-motivated.
A good understanding of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel. An understanding of Microsoft Access would be advantageous but not essential.
Salary
Between £12.00 per hour – £13.45 per hour.
