Martis Search are representing a boutique City of London based Investment company to hire a multi-asset class International Equity, Trade Support & Settlements Analyst. The company boasts a truly entrepreneurial spirit. It is dynamic and forward-thinking, constantly launching new businesses, new funds, new global geographical locations; but still maintains the vibe of an “investment boutique.”

Our client is looking for someone with a minimum of 1-year’s Equity Operations experience in either Equity Trade Support and/or International Equity Settlements, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, or Static Data. The role supports their existing multi-asset class institutional Brokerage business. Our client trades Cash Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and even LME/Metals (Metals Futures) and are willing to teach you the Operations for all asset classes.

It is a small company and working in a small team, so there is a lot to do and learn. Due to the size of the company, you will need to be a self-starter, doing both BAU Middle Office and related “Project Management” work with the support of both the “Senior Operations Manager” (who you would report into) and the wider Operations team in London. There are future promotional opportunities with the potential to become an “Operations Manager” after a period of time and once you have proved yourself – our client is looking for someone with that type of ambition, initiative and ability too.

The company offers a hybrid mix of “working-from-home” and also in-the-office, so you get the best of both worlds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of middle and back office processes, including trade booking, settlement and reconciliations. Our brokerage department has evolved and grown over time, now offering Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income and Metals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade bookings
  • Inputting and maintaining client details and SSIs
  • Liaising with clients and custodians for matching and settlement
  • Tracking and limiting of fails and financing costs
  • Reconciliations between internal and external systems
  • P&L reporting to sales traders
  • Month end processes

Requirements:

  • 1+ years in an Equity Middle Office, or Equity Settlements role
  • Understanding of post trade life cycle, from completion to settlement
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve potential issues as they arise
  • Proficiency to prioritise tasks and manage own workload efficiently
  • Enjoys a team dynamic with shared duties and responsibilities
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Excel

Salary: £40 k pa - £55 k pa (dependent upon experience), plus good bonus, pension, healthcare and study support.
