Transformational leadership opportunity for a UK or European national currently based overseas, seeking a return/relocation to the UK to lead a major plant within a global group.

Our client operates one of the UK's most significant integrated cement plants.
A new role has been created to strengthen the site's future leadership capability as it embarks on a decade-long transformation programme involving significant investment in decarbonisation, automation and digital engineering.
The successful candidate will join the site's senior leadership team as Operations & Engineering Manager, with a planned transition to Plant Manager over the next few years.
The Role
- Lead site-wide engineering, maintenance and reliability functions for a large-scale cement manufacturing facility.
- Deliver strategic improvement in asset reliability, energy efficiency and production uptime.
- Build, mentor and empower high-performing engineering and production teams across electrical, mechanical, and process control disciplines.
- Support large-scale capital investment projects and prepare the plant for advanced carbon capture integration.
- Drive a strong safety culture and world-class operational standards.
- Represent the site in regional and group-level engineering forums.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Chemical Engineering.
- Extensive cement or comparable heavy‑process manufacturing leadership experience.
- Strong experience in multi‑site or international operations (Middle East, North Africa, Europe or Asia Pacific).
- Proven people leader with the ability to develop, inspire and lead large teams in a complex industrial environment.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages advantageous.
- UK or EU national with eligibility and genuine motivation to relocate to the UK.
