Warehouse Manager, Premium Event Hire Solutions, West London Salary: c£45000, plus overtime opportunity + excellent benefits Location: West London, on site. Permanent, full time Lead the team behind some of the UK's best-known events When a five-star hotel or a major event needs hundreds of plates, glasses and pieces of catering equipment, it all must be there, spotless and on time. This is a fast moving, time sensitive business, where events do not move and orders can arrive on the day. Our client is looking for a manager who takes pride in the detail and who will lead the warehouse team behind it, getting to know every person, and building a team that is organised, motivated and ready. The business Our client is a premium event furniture and tableware hire business serving five-star hotels, prestigious venues and some of the most high-profile events in the UK. In just a few years, it has grown to more than 150 employees, with two warehouses in West London and a further site located in the North, and customers rate it very highly. Goods go out, come back dirty, go through the wash tunnels, are checked for chips and wear and go back into stock, sometimes within 24 hours. It is also an employer of choice that people are proud of, a London Living Wage employer, with 25 days holiday for every employee, full sick pay and life assurance and income protection for every manager. The role As Warehouse Manager you will run the tableware and catering equipment warehouse and its team, covering picking, returns and the wash tunnels. You will make sure every order is picked correctly, to the standard the customers expect, and delivered on time. You will plan ahead, stay two days ahead of orders and use the quieter days to get ahead. Above all you will lead people: knowing your team, making sure everyone understands what must be achieved each day, recognising effort and training future team leaders. Many of your team will know the product better than anyone, and customers are demanding and change orders late, so you will keep the team calm and organised when it matters most. It is a hands-on role, and you will work alongside the team every day, under a senior leader who will coach you, with a route to a more senior warehouse position as the business adds sites. Who we are looking for You have managed a warehouse team in a busy, time critical operation, with accountability for accuracy and on time delivery. You take pride in the detail, you are organised and a good planner, and you lead from the front, communicating clearly with people from many backgrounds and cultures. You hold a standard with warmth and consistency, you have energy and enthusiasm, and you are happy to roll your sleeves up. You can lead experienced people who know the job well and win their respect. Experience in hire, catering, hospitality, events, food or drink distribution, returns, washing or reconditioning will be valued, but we are looking for the right character as much as the right sector. You will hold a recognised health and safety qualification such as IOSH or have equivalent training. What you will receive A base salary of £45000, with overtime available when the business is busy. Employer pension, life assurance, income protection, healthcare, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and full sick pay once probation is passed, together with recognition schemes and an annual family barbecue. The role is on site in West London, typically 8am to 6pm. Requirements for this role Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as our client is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. The role also requires recent, hands-on experience of working in a UK warehouse or operations environment, because it depends on working knowledge of UK health and safety law and UK employment practice. Appointments are subject to right to work checks and satisfactory references. We welcome applications from everyone who meets these requirements.
