About the Role
You will act as the Procurement Director's strategic second-in-command, shaping and delivering procurement excellence across the full indirect categories landscape. Your remit will include:
- Driving best-in-class category management across indirect categories
- Embedding the 5-Step Sourcing Process, Gate Reviews and Category Roadmaps
- Ensuring category plans reflect commercial insight, risk mitigation and business strategy
- Strengthening governance discipline and analytical rigour across the team
- Direct leadership of:
- Logistics
- Fleet
- General Services
Leadership & Capability Development
- Leading and developing a team of Category Managers and ACMs
- Coaching individuals at different levels of procurement career maturity
- Uplifting commercial capability, critical thinking and stakeholder confidence
- Ensuring the team consistently produces market-leading category strategies
Stakeholder Engagement
- Influencing senior stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and Group Procurement
- Balancing local needs with Group strategy
- Acting as ambassador for procurement's value proposition across the business
About You
You will bring:
- Degree educated
- A track record within blue-chip or multinational matrix organisations
- Broad multi-category indirect procurement leadership
- Experience overseeing large-scale spend portfolios (£100m+)
- Strong governance and strategy experience
- Evidence of delivering quantifiable commercial value

- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and uplift teams
- Confidence to challenge constructively and raise performance standards
- Emotional intelligence and resilience

The Package
- Very competitive base salary

- Hybrid working (regular travel to Midlands HO). You can live anywhere in England however proximity to major road and rail networks would be logistically and practically advantageous so that you can regular travel to HO to engage with your team and senior stakeholders. Relocation assistance is also negotiable.
