The majority of work revolves around interest rate, foreign exchange and inflation market risk within larger (up to multiple billion dollar-equivalent) and more complex transactions. Founded in 2017, the business is an entrepreneurial startup company looking to grow a talented team of individuals who are considered best in class in this niche, but challenging and rewarding, business.

As Analyst you will deliver advisory mandates for the core client base, working closely with clients, financial advisors, investment bank derivative desks, law firms and other stakeholders, to deliver client transactions with increasing autonomy commensurate with your experience. You’ll undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of client market risk exposures, often entailing use/analysis of large Excel financial models. You will also be involved with hedge structuring, pricing and execution, including interest rate, FX/cross-currency and inflation swaps and options, as well as creating and delivering written materials including client pitches, advisory analysis and presentations, termsheets, market commentaries and training material.

What you’ll need:

  • Highly numerate, most likely demonstrated by a strong academic record.
  • A STEM subject degree from a top-tier university would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in an OTC derivatives (CF30) role within bank derivatives coverage, structuring or advisory would be an advantage. Relevant experience includes rates, cross-currency, FX and inflation swap and option pricing, XVAs, funding, regulation and basic hedge accounting principles.
  • A desire to develop a client-focused consulting skillset, and play an instrumental part in developing long-term client relationships.
  • A genuine interest in developing knowledge and experience of infrastructure clients and transactions.
  • Experience of infrastructure and utilities or other “event driven” sectors (private equity, real estate, structured trade and export finance) is not a requirement, but would be advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Inquisitiveness and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • VBA knowledge is advantageous.
  • The flexibility and self-starting attitude required to succeed in a small startup company.
  • The ability to hold a UK Financial Conduct Authority Approved Person role, including a regulatory reference from any former FCA regulated role.

Where you’ll be based: The office is based in the Woodbridge area, and there will be an occasional requirement to work from the London office to attend meetings.

What you’ll receive:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Bonuses linked to personal and company performance.
  • Monday-Friday working week, typically 8:30am-6pm.
  • 10% pension.
  • 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
