Role Overview
MRG is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of high‑quality building services designs across a range of projects within the built environment, predominantly focused on the UK Defence Estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building services solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, client requirements, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical building services designs including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data systems, and specialist systems.
- Undertake design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and drawings using industry‑standard software.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams including mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Attend design reviews, site surveys, and client meetings across Defence Estate projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with current regulations, British Standards, HTMs, JSPs, and Defence‑specific requirements.
- Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
- Review contractor submissions, technical queries, and commissioning documentation.
- Contribute to project planning, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
