To work in our Employment Department based at our Telford Office, Monday to Friday β 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Martin Kaye LLP is a modern and forward-thinking legal practice with offices in Telford, Wolverhampton, Wem and Shrewsbury. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated legal professional to join our Employment team dealing with a varied contentious case load of Employment Tribunal matters (predominantly Respondent defence) in conjunction with advising national SME and professional sector clients subscribing to our Alpha HR and Employment law support service.
Alpha is an innovative nationwide Employment law and HR support service. Our objective is to provide Alpha clients with employment and HR advice that is both commercial and solution orientated, in conjunction with bespoke documentation and on-site attendances (to include co-chairing employee hearings) and delivering HR training to Managers.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating a diverse Employment Tribunal caseload, accounting for circa 25% to 30% of the role. Experience in providing HR and Employment Law advice to Employers will be key. Generally, the role will entail responsibility for circa 20 to 25 retained business clients, comprising predominantly independent schools, care homes and GP practices. Previous experience of advising employers in professional sectors would be beneficial but not essential. Experience of delivering Employment and HR training would be advantageous.
Travel to client premises is required, therefore a full driving license and own vehicle are essential. Excellent organisational, written and IT skills are essential. The successful candidate will be proficient with MS Office; experience using a case management system is ideal but not essential. This role requires good file management skills with a high level of attention to detail, ability to work under pressure at times, a can-do attitude, adept at finding commercial solutions to meet client expectations and maintaining excellent client service.
