Martin House provides free specialist palliative care to babies, children and young people with complex and life‑shortening conditions. Families from across West, North and East Yorkshire have access to our care 24/7, 365 days a year, including specialist doctors. Every year we care for more than 550 families, at the hospice, in hospital and in families’ own homes, as well as supporting around 200 bereaved family members.
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Marketing and Communications Manager to join our high‑performing Marketing and Communications team. This pivotal role will manage the creation and delivery of strategic campaigns that build our brand and reputation as we open the doors to our newly improved hospice in 2026. You’ll secure impactful media coverage and produce compelling content that strengthens our influence across West, North, and East Yorkshire. Responsibilities- Supporting the Head of Marketing and Communications in delivering the overall communications strategy.
- Leading audience‑focused campaigns to raise Martin House’s profile, inspire supporters, and deepen understanding of our mission.
- Managing the Marketing Executive.
- Driving proactive and reactive PR, including identifying media opportunities and preparing spokespeople for interviews.
- Overseeing reporting processes, using data insights to evaluate impact and inform future planning.
- Managing communications for major projects, including the opening of the new hospice, and our new Education Centre, in 2026.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integrated marketing activities.
- Creative content creation and impactful storytelling to inspire support.

- Experienced in multi‑channel marketing and communications, with strong PR skills.
- Skilled in developing campaigns across offline and digital channels, including social media, direct mail, and print.
- A confident project manager, able to take initiatives from brief to delivery while managing budgets effectively.
- A creative storyteller with excellent copywriting and proofreading skills, able to adapt tone for different audiences.
- Strong in relationship‑building and collaboration, working effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise heavy workloads and meet deadlines during peak periods.
- Have experience in the charity sector.
- Annual leave – eight weeks per year, including bank holidays.
- Sick pay – six months full pay and six months half pay following successful completion of probationary period.
