Martin House provides free specialist palliative care to babies, children and young people with complex and life‑shortening conditions. Families from across West, North and East Yorkshire have access to our care 24/7, 365 days a year, including specialist doctors. Every year we care for more than 550 families, at the hospice, in hospital and in families’ own homes, as well as supporting around 200 bereaved family members.
As we open our new children’s wing and with the imminent opening of our new teenager and young adult facility, we are looking to add to expand our staff team. We’re looking for two hands‑on Maintenance Technicians who take pride in keeping things running smoothly. In this varied role, you’ll deliver high quality planned and reactive maintenance across our estate, helping to ensure our buildings, equipment and facilities are safe, compliant and fully operational. From electrical and mechanical systems to building fabric, shop units and our hydrotherapy pool, your work will play a key part in creating a welcoming, well‑maintained environment that reflects the excellent reputation of Martin House.
Using our CAFM system, you’ll manage jobs efficiently, record your work accurately and help us maintain the highest standards of care and compliance.
Our ideal candidate will:

They will possess:
- Experience in building maintenance, engineering or a similar technician role
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
- Ability to carry out routine inspections, testing and minor repairs
- Confident using digital systems (e.g. CAFM) to manage jobs and record work
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3) in a building services discipline and/or experience working in a large, multi‑site or complex environment would be advantageous.
