We have recently completed our transformational £21.9 million redevelopment project, creating a purpose‑built hospice with enhanced facilities designed to meet the needs of children and young people with life‑limiting conditions for years to come.
Our hospice now provides modern, welcoming spaces for families accessing respite, symptom management and end‑of‑life care. These improved facilities enable us to continue delivering personalised, specialist care in an environment specifically designed to support children, young people and their families across Yorkshire.
As we open our teenage wing, we are looking to expand our team of Care Team Nurses. As a valued member of our award‑winning and vibrant clinical team, you will provide palliative care, alongside planned and emergency short breaks, both within the hospice and in the community.
You will benefit from the opportunity to deliver 1:1 nursing care while working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including therapists, family support professionals and a 24‑hour medical team. Qualifications
- Committed to Martin House’s values – Excellence, Respect, Integrity and Compassion.
- Nursing qualification such as children’s nurse or learning disability nurse.
- Active NMC registration with no restrictions on practice.
- Experience of working in a care setting, preferably with children and young adults.
- Outstanding care skills with a focus on empathy, compassion and active listening.
- Professional experience of administering medicines in a care setting.
- Proficiency with a range of IT systems.
- Will have access to a vehicle for business use and be able to drive a Martin House Pool car. Advantageous to have prior experience in a palliative care setting or nursing children with life‑limiting conditions, including those with special educational needs.

- Annual leave – eight weeks per year, including bank holidays.
- Sick pay – six months full pay and six months half pay following successful completion of probationary period.

Salary
£39 233.57 – £46 887.76 per annum pro rata (starting salaries usually start at the bottom of the scale).
