Martin & Hamilton are recruiting an experienced Project Manager for an exciting commercial construction project in Cookstown. The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully delivering complex construction works of £10m+, demonstrating a strong track record in construction project management, programme delivery, health & safety compliance and team leadership.

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution and delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This includes managing time, cost, quality, safety, and client relationships while ensuring compliance with UK construction regulations and company procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Prepare and manage project programmes in collaboration with the Contracts Manager.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Monitor progress against programme and take corrective action where required.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contract in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Keep rigorous records and administer all project correspondence via Procore; ensure compliance and best practice use of Procore with the site team and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and control project costs, including variations and change control.
  • Work closely with the commercial team on valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and Company Health & Safety policies and processes.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all the site.
  • Ensure RAMS are in place prior to allowing work activities to commence and ensure they are followed.
  • Liaise with HSEQ Manager and client H&S team as required.
  • Act as the main on-site point of contact for clients during project delivery.
  • Chair technical and supply chain meetings and provide project reports.
  • Manage relationships with local authorities and inspectors.
  • Resolve issues and disputes effectively.
  • Build and promote good working relationships with site staff, subcontractors, supply chain, QS team, HSEQ manager and wider construction/office teams.
  • Effectively manage site-based teams; support the Company in maintaining a high-performance culture where staff are engaged, and motivated.
  • Allocate resources efficiently across the project.
  • Support staff development and performance management.
  • Any other duties as required and deemed within your competence.

Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Membership of CIOB or similar.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the UK construction industry.
  • Experience managing projects typically valued at £10m+.
  • Experience in commercial/industrial projects.
  • Experience working in live or occupied environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and site management.
  • Strong understanding of JCT contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Project and Office.
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain HSENI health & safety standards on site.
  • Flexible to meet the needs of the business.
  • Great work ethic & attitude.
  • Full & valid UK driving licence.
