Purpose of the Role
Responsible for new equipment setup, testing, commissioning and repair.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure product quality through various test procedures. Includes point to point testing, hot testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Load computer programs to equipment, test program functionality, and make changes.
- Advanced work, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
- Load test gensets and other equipment.
- Escalates unresolved issues to supervisor and/or OEM.
- Assists with preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislations.
- Completes other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

- Required Competencies
- Education: Relevant electrical, mechanical, and/or programming
- Experience: Energy industry experience preferred
- Skills:
- Willingness to learn and excel at new opportunities.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment.
- Read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Safely work on live electrical systems, as well as configure new electrical setups without oversight.
- Captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
- Create documents and procedures for testing and training.
- Provide hands-on training for less experienced techs.
