Purpose of the Role
To manage and design the mechanical aspects of projects, including but not limited to, hydronic systems, gas delivery systems, heating/ventilation systems, and equipment sizing.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Development of mechanical piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Development of mechanical equipment specifications
- Sizing and design of mechanical systems
- Review assembly and detailed fabrication drawings for construction
- Support manufacturing and service during production/commissioning
- Adhere to company and client engineering standards and procedures
- Communicate with contractors and customers using clear verbal and written communication
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accreditation) or relevant experience
Experience:
- Basic understanding of mechanical assembly
- Basic understanding of materials and equipment selection
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Skills:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical details to peers and customers
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Focus and attention to detail for complex mechanical systems
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
