Position Summary: In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and lead a team of managers and operatives, with a focus on achieving daily workloads while fostering a supportive environment. Your leadership will be essential in achieving pre-determined productivity and service level targets, all while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, employment law, and company hygiene practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspire and motivate your team to reach their daily output objectives and meet shift KPIs in a manner that fosters collaboration and empowerment.
- Plan and manage adjacent shifts, ensuring that operations meet or exceed agreed-upon productivity levels while embracing a culture of continuous improvement.
- Facilitate clear and thorough handovers between shifts, actively identifying and documenting any issues or achievements to enhance operational transparency.
- Collaborate with the Reverse Logistics & Hygiene Manager to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and organization throughout the warehouse, reinforcing our commitment to a safe and positive work environment.
- Champion training initiatives, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the skills they need to thrive and contribute effectively, using a training matrix to track progress and completion.
- Optimise workforce planning to ensure that we meet peak demand with a well-prepared, multi-skilled team.
- Strategically manage and control labour usage to maintain budget productivity levels, while simultaneously supporting the personal growth and development of your team.
- Provide support and coverage for Warehouse Operations Manager and Warehouse Shift Managers as needed, leading by example in all aspects of warehouse operations.
Qualifications Technical Competencies:
- Proven management experience in an FMCG operation, with a focus on transforming team dynamics and processes.
- Proficient in MS computer packages at an intermediate level.
- Strong leadership and performance management skills, with a commitment to fostering high levels of engagement, growth and development in others.
