Position Summary
The process driven individual will be providing confidential advice, support and guidance to site managers and employees in accordance with company policies and procedures and legislative requirements. Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries from the site. Provide/collate HR data or information for the HR Manager and senior management team for reporting, analysis and action planning purposes.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Actively represent the HR team at local site meetings e.g. management meetings, employee forums, health and safety and trade union meetings, ensuring any HR actions are completed in a time efficient manner.
- Support the HR Manager with the implementation of all Employee Engagement Survey action plans with site management team.
- Support DC managers with key initiatives to improve employee well-being and employee engagement.
- Engage in promoting and βlivingβ Martin Brower values and our care culture.
Training and Development
- Organise and assist with the delivery of training and development activities including management training, employee site inductions and on-boarding, and the global onboarding.
- Support the HR Manager with various training and development programmes, e.g. ER trainings and other initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Take ownership and responsibility for the case management of all Employment Relations, ensuring all associated actions are logged on the associated trackers and documentation is retained on employee files.
- Provide expert advice on specific Employee Relations issues and coach DC managers in the appropriate actions to take, in line with current Employment Legislations and Martin Brower policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on ER cases, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints or grievances, documenting findings with a strong attention to detail.
Absence Management
- Assist site managers with absence case management.
- Liaise with Occupational Health as required, refer employees to the clinic, manage the process and advise managers on the appropriate actions based on occupational health recommendations.
- Organise and attend long term sick absence review meetings and prepare meeting outcome letters.
Policy and Procedure Adherence
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws during all stages of the employee lifecycle, especially in sensitive ER matters.
- Review and update HR policies to reflect current legislation and best practices, ensuring they are communicated effectively across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and enhance the efficiency of ER case management.
- Collaborate with HR team members to develop standardized procedures that ensure consistency and clarity in handling employee relations issues.
Recruitment & Selection
- Co-ordinate and assist with recruitment and selection activities e.g. interviews and assessment centres.
- Provide monthly site recruitment data when required.
Administration & Compliance
- Administer corporate driven HR projects e.g. Employee Engagement and Ethics with the site senior management teams and employees.
- Administer actions and processes to maintain SWA (Supplier Workplace Accountability) compliance e.g. new starter documentation checks, agency audits, WTD checks etc.
- Maintain and update employee records and trackers (manual and electronic) and files when required.
- Administer agency audits in line with the Company requirement.
Qualifications
- Strong employee relations experience at all levels and process driven.
- CIPD qualified or part CIPD qualified would be advantageous or an equivalent level of experience.
- Previous HR administrative experience or administrative experience obtained in a similar role is essential.
- Proven experience of providing HR advice and guidance in line with company policies, procedures and legislation would be advantageous.
