Responsibilities include supporting the day-to-day operation of the Reverse Logistics and Hygiene departments, ensuring operational targets, hygiene standards, and compliance requirements are consistently achieved. In the absence of the manager, take responsibility for departmental operations, maintaining continuity of service and making effective operational decisions.
Coordinate reverse logistics activities, including yard operations, waste streams, pallet and trailer movements, and barrel trailer processes, while liaising with transport teams, suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficient collections and site flow. Assist with workload planning and team coordination to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards within a multi‑temperature food storage environment.
Monitor site hygiene and safety standards, maintain accurate operational records and documentation, and support the wider hygiene team as required. Continually identify opportunities for operational improvement, promote efficient working practices, and foster a positive team culture through effective communication, collaboration, and hands‑on operational support.
Qualifications Required Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Must be computer literate and have a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- FLT experience is essential
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes to meet the demands placed on the company by our customer
- Calm under pressure
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Innovative, forward‑thinking, able to think ‘outside the box’ and generate new opportunities for improvement
