What you will be doing:
Martin-Baker is the world’s leading manufacturer of ejection seats, helping to protect aircrew in the world’s most advanced military aircraft. Our mission is simple - to save aircrew lives. Join us on this mission as Supplier Quality Engineer, focused on Mechanical suppliers, part of our Sourcing department and based in from our Denham campus. The role will involve travelling to supplier sites, as needed. You will be responsible for providing quality engineering support to company supply chains, influencing supplier development to ensure that products are sourced to required quality standards and delivery conditions. This role will focus on mechanical business processes, including machine parts, fabrics, surface treatments and explosives. Using KPI indicators, you will measure and report on supplier performance levels, assisting colleagues from further Sourcing teams with the quality certification process of validating potential new suppliers, auditing both existing and new suppliers relating to their performance. Our suppliers that we proudly partner with are located within the UK and internationally. This role will provide interesting, rewarding and worthwhile learning experiences. Characteristics & Skills:
- Seasoned manufacturing, quality control or audit experience, with understanding of machining and surface treatment processes linked to product manufacturing.
- Understanding of quality assurance best practices within automotive, aerospace or defence sectors.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and first article process/documentation details.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods and production models with relevant supply chain experience.
- Commitment to the highest standards.
- Be curious and have an interest and enthusiasm for engineering.
- Have an eye for detail and getting things right.
