The Opportunity Working full-time alongside our technical specialist, you will act as a vital line of defence to ensure absolute measurement integrity across our manufacturing operations. This role offers deep day-to-day variety, substantial technical training investment, and an opportunity to shape work that has not previously been done. You will receive full 1-on-1 mentorship as well as external training to develop your skills in emerging digital metrology systems. What You'll Do •Inspection Process Automation: Program, test, and validate automated or semi-automated metrology machinery, with a primary focus on Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). •Method Optimisation: Review existing inspection methods for complex machined components to remove labour-intensive manual checks and improve production flow. •Drawing candidates must be able to generate programs rather than simply running existing ones. •Metrology Baseline: Practical metrology inspection experience, including bench work, manual gauges, and shadowgraph operation. •Drawing Literacy: The absolute ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to establish correct acceptance criteria. •Preferred Background: We are looking for experienced metrology inspectors seeking upward progression into a specialised technical role. Defence, aerospace, or automotive sector experience is highly desirable. •Technical Literacy: Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required. An engineering degree, HNC, or HND is highly valued but not mandatory. •The Mindset: A logical problem solver who can operate with training and support without needing continuous supervision.
