We are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Product and Engineering Support team. This isn’t a desk job—you’ll be the face of Martin-Baker on the hangar floor, providing world-class technical support to military and civil aviation customers across the globe.
The Role
- You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and trial installation of ejection seats and aircraft canopy systems.
- Global Support: Travel internationally for deployments ranging from one to several weeks.
- Technical Mastery: Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on ejection seats and explosive canopy cords.
- Trial Installations (TIs): Collaborate with Design Engineers and Human Factors specialists to retrofit seats into aircraft.
- Customer Liaison: Manage high-pressure on-site interactions, providing technical solutions and managing expectations for military and civil clients.
- Precision: Maintain strict tool control and follow complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.

- You are a disciplined technician who thrives in autonomous, high-stakes environments.
- You take pride in your “hand skills” and have the diplomatic touch needed to handle complex customer relations.
Must-Haves
- Experience: Proven background in the Aerospace or Aeronautical industry.
- Education: HNC, BTEC, or NVQ Level 3/4 in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Technical Aptitude: Exceptional mechanical “hand skills” and the ability to interpret complex engineering documentation.
- Mindset: A willingness to travel extensively and work independently after training.
- Communication: Professionalism to manage difficult customer interactions on-site.

- Military background (specifically RAF Armament trade or similar).
- Direct experience with ejection seat maintenance or canopy fitting.
