Join us on this mission as a Finishing Operative at our Denham site. This role is focused on Paint Prepping and Spraying tasks. You’ll apply paint, trimagard, lacquered and dry film lubricant finishes using various spraying equipment to a variety of components. You’ll be fully involved with the painting strategy and quality levels to ultimately save lives.
Aspects Of The Role
- Checking and cleaning surfaces before applying a variety of sprayed finishes (gloss, matt, primer and topcoats) to components using a hand spray gun, ensuring coatings meet technical specifications.
- Setting and operating ovens to required temperature and durations, ensuring batch traceability of paint.
- Masking detail components to drawing/specifications using tapes, plastic plugs and bungs.
- Unmasking components and checking paint surfaces for damage or omissions, removing all tapes, plugs and bungs and touching up as required.
- Inspecting painted finish by visual and automated techniques; measuring paint thickness and gloss level to ensure conformance.
Characteristics & Skills
- Demonstrable experience in paint spraying and surface preparation processes.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Full understanding of health and safety and COSHH regulations relating to hazardous substances.
- Experience working in manufacturing organisations.
