A vacancy has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Sourcing team at the Denham site. Reporting into the Operational Excellence Manager, the Continuous Improvement Manager will support and lead improvement initiatives across the procurement function and subsequently the wider supply chain that Martin-Baker supports. You’ll need to work onsite all days for the first six months of employment; afterwards, hybrid options can be discussed.
What you’ll be doing
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, leading data-driven improvement initiatives that enhance process performance, consistency, and visibility. You’ll apply LEAN and Continuous Improvement methodologies to identify waste, improve flow, and embed more effective ways of working across Sourcing and associated functions. The role involves close engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, leading and supporting cross-functional improvement activities, structured problem-solving, business system implementation, and the use of data and metrics to track performance and benefit realisation. You’ll also have line management responsibility for a Continuous Improvement Analyst, supporting their development, capability growth, and workload prioritisation. This opportunity is well suited to candidates with experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain environments, who are looking to broaden their impact across a complex and highly regulated supply chain while gaining people-management experience.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience delivering improvement projects with measurable outcomes, with proven understanding of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence activities.
- Working knowledge of LEAN tools/resources (process mapping, VSM, root cause analysis).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and stakeholder management abilities to engage with internal stakeholders.
- Share and demonstrate the Martin-Baker Values.
You’ll learn from experts who will help you obtain a wide understanding of an engineering business, encouraging you to develop new skills and gain strong industry experience.
