The Opportunity: Reporting directly to the Head of Logistics & Order Administration, you will act as a vital catalyst for digital transformation and operational excellence. This is an individual contributor role with zero direct reports, giving you total freedom to focus deeply on process engineering, data analytics, and cross-functional problem-solving. You will step into a premier position with the autonomy to review, map, and refine our end-to-end order-to-cash lifecycle. Partnering closely with Sales, Logistics, Finance, and IT functions, you will become a key architecture partner during our transition into advanced digital workflows, making this an ideal role for an analytical professional looking to make an immediate, tangible impact on a globally respected supply chain operation.
What You’ll Do:
- Streamline the Order-to-Cash Lifecycle: Continually review, evaluate, and optimise core Sales & Distribution processes, including order entry, contract pricing, global delivery setups, and billing mechanisms.
- System Integration & Testing: Gather, define, and document clear business requirements to support system changes using SAP S/4HANA—including managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshooting system issues, and coordinating go-live readiness.
- Lead Process Architecture: Orchestrate departmental improvement activities, conducting end-to-end process mapping, root cause analysis (RCA), and organised problem-solving sessions.
- Drive Delivery Metrics: Deliver sustainable operational changes that measurably optimise supply chain efficiency, record accuracy, and customer performance metrics (such as cycle times and On-Time, In-Full delivery).
- Data-Driven Performance Management: Track project successes, process gaps, and system backlogs by building out and maintaining robust operational KPIs and digital dashboards.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate daily across Sales, Logistics, Finance, and IT departments to unearth hidden bottlenecks, align workflows, and eliminate functional silos.
- Documentation Control: Author, maintain, and publish updated procedures, standard operating instructions, and master process maps to guarantee total alignment with SAP upgrades and operational changes.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Requirements (Must Haves):
- Continuous Improvement Experience: A proven, active track record operating within continuous improvement or structured process optimisation remits.
- Lean Experience: Practical application and hands-on experience utilising Lean frameworks and methodologies to eliminate operational waste.
- SAP S/4HANA SD Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience working with the Sales & Distribution (SD) module within SAP S/4HANA to support system testing or system updates.
- Process Understanding: A deep, comprehensive ability to fully work with, unpack, and understand complex sales and distribution/order-to-cash workflows.
Skills & Attributes:
- Analytical Capability: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with complete comfort manipulating operational data, tracking performance metrics, and managing technical software changes.
- The Mindset: A proactive, collaborative communicator who exhibits high attention to detail, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and takes complete personal ownership of project delivery.
Education & Professional Status: No specific degree is required for this role—your proven process optimisation capability and mandatory systems experience are what matter most.
Our Values: At Martin-Baker, we value professionalism, understanding, teamwork, humility, accountability and integrity. We look for people who take pride in their work, collaborate openly and act with care because the work we do matters.
