What You’ll Be Doing
Martin-Baker is the world’s leading manufacturer of ejection seats, helping to protect aircrew in the world’s most advanced military aircraft. Our mission is simple - to save aircrew lives.
Join us on this mission as an Assembly Operative in the USRM (under seat rocket motor) department at our Chalgrove site. The purpose of the role is to undertake multi-skilled and multi-process duties as may be allocated within a small volume manufacturing cell, primarily the assembly of rocket motor hardware. This will be working on a shift basis of 4 on 4 off from 7am to 4.30pm (this converts to 177 shifts per year).
Key responsibilities for this tole include to:
- Follow work instructions and Engineering drawings to accurately build / assemble components.
- Use SAP to accurately record all work in progress, track processing of component batches through the manufacturing process, accurately record the location of components and parts and record all non-conforming products.
- Monitor the fitness for purpose of tools and equipment and provide for their replacement and/or recalibration so that tools and equipment are always in good condition and suitable for purpose.

Characteristics & Skills
- Experience of using hand tools.
- Basic understanding of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Basic administration routines.
- Basic PC and SAP skills.
- Production / manufacturing experience gained from operating in a similar manufacturing environment.
