Overview: The Crown Inn is a recently refurbished, food-led community pub in a prominent location on the busy A5 Watling Street, between Brownhills and Cannock. With a strong local reputation for food, it attracts both local guests and destination diners. Reported weekly sales of £16,000, an 80:20 food-to-wet sales mix and a well-established customer base give the next pub operator a strong platform for continued success.
The business: This is a one-room pub operation with around 150 dining covers, zoned into three key trading areas, a small bar and a compact outdoor trading space. The business is firmly food-led and benefits from its visible roadside position, refurbished surroundings and established reputation. Its main strengths are its high food sales mix, appeal to both local and destination diners, and capacity to deliver a consistently strong dining experience.
The opportunity: Following an internal move, we are looking for an operator can build on strong foundations by protecting the pub’s food reputation, growing breakfast trade and using this to increase lunchtime visits. Maintaining excellent kitchen standards, food quality, service and compliance will be central to delivering further growth.
Who we’re looking for: We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on operator who is food‑focused and guest‑obsessed. You will be fully kitchen trained, confident leading and motivating a back‑of‑house team, and uncompromising on food quality, operational standards and compliance. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deliver a consistently excellent guest experience are essential.
What’s in it for you? You’ll receive a 26% share of weekly sales excluding VAT, plus a guaranteed annual retained sum of £35,000 released weekly. Low ingoing costs start with a £5,000 deposit and £360 legal cost. Separate owner’s accommodation is included, with most bills covered except council tax and the TV Licence.
