We are looking for a General Manager for a popular community pub. Salary up to £X plus bonus and a generous benefits package.

Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains, operating more than 1,300 pubs, bars and hotels. We’re on the lookout for a great General Manager to take charge at the Cherry Orchard, Barry and lead the team to success!

About the pub:

The Cherry Orchard is a popular community pub, recently undergoing investment to our 2-door format. This pub is the heart of the community, well-established and known for its warm atmosphere, consistent trade, and strong local following. It offers a welcoming environment for both regulars and visitors, with a reputation for friendly service, quality drinks, and a relaxed, sociable setting. The pub’s layout supports a steady flow of trade throughout the week, with clearly defined spaces for dining, drinking, and community gatherings.

The pub attracts a diverse dynamic of drinkers, diners, and families who come to take advantage of the indoor play area. There is also a strong Sunday food offer, and scope to grow sales further with regular promotion of sports coverage, music, and comedy nights. The pub is currently averaging £29,000 in weekly sales, with a 45 dry to 55 wet sales mix. We are looking for a General Manager who can continue to engage the local community and grow both the wet and dry sides of the business.

Management accommodation is available in the form of a separate, well-proportioned three-bedroom terraced house situated directly across from the pub. The property includes convenient off-street parking and a charming rear garden.
