Location: Brighton | Hybrid Working – 2 to 3 days in your local office + visiting client sites.
Responsibilities
- Supporting transport & development planning projects from concept to preliminary design
- Carrying out data analysis, traffic & transport studies, GIS work, and site surveys
- Preparing reports, drawings, and technical documents
- Providing technical support and advice on transport planning matters
- Collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams and supporting junior colleagues
- Responding to client queries and helping ensure exceptional service delivery
- Ensuring project files and documents meet QA standards
- Contributing to a positive, solution-focused team culture
Qualifications
- HNC or Degree in a relevant subject
- Experience in transport planning or traffic engineering
- Strong written, numerical & communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage your own workload and work collaboratively
Bonus skills (not essential but amazing to have!)
- Experience with transport appraisal, travel planning or active travel design
- Familiarity with DfT guidance, LTN standards & planning processes
- Knowledge of software like AutoCAD, TRICS, LINSIG, ARCADY/PICADY
- Exposure to modelling tools (e.g., VISSIM, VISUM, SATURN, TRANSYT)
- Experience creating content in tools like InDesign or Canva
