Scott & Co is a leading provider of debt recovery, enforcement and legal document service. We are part of Marston Holdings, the UK’s largest judicial services group, providing integrated court order compliance. We now have an immediate vacancy for a Trainee Sheriff Officer based in Aberdeen.

We are looking for a confident self-motivated individual looking for a new challenge and to gain a new qualification to build a career with us at Scott & Co. The role will be focused on giving you a qualification and 121 learning and support with our Sheriff Officers. After you have gained your qualification with us you will be qualified to be a Sheriff Officer for Scott & Co which includes an increase in salary along with a company car and the opportunity to train as a messenger at arms.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting the Sheriff Officer in the execution of their duties
  • Processing service updates reports and fees in real time via Optimise Tablet platform
  • Checking documents for accuracy corroborating facts and dialogue obtained during customer interactions
  • On road training from experienced Sheriff Officer
  • Weekly Training sessions delivered by Training & Development Manager
  • Homework assignments
  • Regular progress assessments

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • SCQF Level 4 or equivalent
  • Excellent ability to communicate
  • Clear focus on quality and accuracy
  • Positive outlook and with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Valid UK Driving Licence

New starters will be subject to clearance through Disclosure Scotland and a Court Decree check. In addition, the post holder is expected to keep the Company updated if their personal circumstances change.
