HGV Driver Class 2 / Enforcement Officer - Dual Role

HGV Driver / Enforcement Officer .

This is a dual-role position , combining HGV driving and vehicle removal duties with enforcement work on behalf of the DVLA.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, is confident dealing with members of the public and is looking for a varied position where no two days are the same.

All applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and a Class 2 HGV licence. A HIAB licence is desirable.

This is a full-time role contracted at

42.5 hours per week .

• What You’ll Be Doing
• HGV Driver / Vehicle Removal Responsibilities
• Attend daily briefings and collect all relevant removal information for the day’s work.
• Carry out daily checks to ensure the recovery vehicle and equipment are serviceable and fit for purpose.
• Physically examine lifting and towing equipment and report any faults or concerns to the Pound Manager.
• Ensure the digital tachograph is operating correctly.
• Check that the recovery vehicle is suitable and capable of removing vehicles safely.
• Safely remove vehicles assigned via tablet or telephone from the pound.
• Take all required photographs and complete accurate vehicle condition reports.
• Contact the pound to confirm vehicle removal and ensure the Police are informed where required.
• Safely transport and deliver vehicles to the pound.
• Unload vehicles and take any further required photographs.
• Request the next task from the office and continue with assigned removals.
• Ensure all vehicle removals are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
• Enforcement Officer Responsibilities
• Operate an ANPR vehicle to identify untaxed vehicles.
• Clamp, remove and impound vehicles in accordance with procedures and legislation.
• Complete all required enforcement documentation, including vehicle condition reports and evidence photography.
• Liaise with the DVLA, Police, VOSA and other relevant agencies.
• Attend daily briefings and ensure all enforcement equipment is operational and fit for use.
• Deal professionally with enquiries from members of the public regarding enforcement action.
• Provide relevant information and guidance to members of the public where required.
• Work flexibly across different locations and undertake additional duties where required.
• Represent NSL professionally at all times.
• Working in a Dual Role

This position carries equal responsibility across both HGV driving and enforcement duties , between the two main areas of enforcement.

You will therefore need to be comfortable moving between HGV driving, vehicle removals and enforcement activities, depending on the operational requirements of the business.

This role includes a combination of duties and involves HGV driving, it is therefore essential that you adhere to all HGV driving regulations, including driver hours, working time rules, and vehicle compliance requirements.

Flexibility is essential, and you may be required to work across different locations or temporarily undertake other duties where required.

• Comfortable working as part of a team as well as independently.

Previous enforcement experience is desirable but not essential, subject to the required HGV qualifications and relevant experience. Full training will be provided.
