Dual Enforcement Officer / Pound Cashier (DVLA)

We’re currently recruiting for a Dual DVLA Enforcement Officer / Pound Cashier to join our team. This is a varied role combining office-based Cashier and administrative duties with field-based enforcement work.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied working environment, has excellent customer service skills and is confident working both independently and as part of a team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Pound Cashier / Administration – Office Based

During your two weeks as a Cashier, you will:

  • Liaise with members of the public, providing advice and guidance regarding clamping, removal and enforcement fines.
  • Advise customers on payment methods and queries relating to enforcement action taken against their vehicle.
  • Deal with public enquiries and ensure the appropriate information and documentation is available.
  • Work alongside external agencies where required, including the Police, DVLA and VOSA.
  • Ensure vehicles and enforcement equipment are serviced and fit for purpose, reporting any faults to the Manager.
  • Complete daily reports and administrative tasks relating to enforcement activity.
  • Provide a professional and helpful customer service experience at all times.

DVLA Enforcement Officer – Field Based

During your two weeks as an Enforcement Officer, you will:

  • Operate an ANPR vehicle to identify untaxed vehicles.
  • Clamp, remove and impound vehicles in accordance with procedures and legislation.
  • Complete all required enforcement documentation, including condition reports and evidence photography.
  • Liaise with the DVLA, Police, VOSA and other relevant agencies.
  • Attend daily briefings and ensure all enforcement equipment is operational and fit for use.
  • Work flexibly across different locations and undertake additional duties where required.
  • Represent the organisation professionally when dealing with members of the public.

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Applicants must be able to work Mondays.
  • Monday: Office-based Cashier shift, 7:30am–5:30pm.
  • Tuesday–Friday: 8:00am–4:15pm, including a 30-minute break.
  • 2-week rotation: 2 weeks as a Pound Cashier followed by 2 weeks as a Field Enforcement Officer.
  • The rotation may be adjusted in line with business and operational requirements, so candidates must be flexible and understand the needs of the service.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Can multi-task under pressure, in a busy office.
  • Is confident dealing with members of the public, including potentially challenging situations.
  • Is computer literate and comfortable completing administrative tasks and reports.
  • Can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Can remain calm, professional and respectful when dealing with conflict.
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working between office and field-based environments.
  • Holds a full UK manual driving licence.

Previous enforcement experience is not essential as full training will be provided. We’re particularly interested in candidates who have transferable experience in customer service, enforcement, security, driving, administration or other public-facing roles.

Training & Development

You’ll receive full training across both elements of the role. This includes internal training and on-site support from experienced Enforcement Officers, giving you the knowledge and confidence required to carry out your duties safely and effectively.
