About the role

We're looking for a Senior Highway Structures Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions on highway structures projects across the UK, working alongside industry experts in a collaborative, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and career progression.

What you'll be doing



  • Delivering concept, preliminary and detailed highway structure designs.

  • Producing and checking engineering calculations, technical reports and drawings.

  • Carrying out complex structural analysis and reviewing the work of junior engineers.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to developing team members.

  • Managing project budgets, programmes and delivering work to agreed targets.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

  • Attending client meetings and representing Project Centre professionally.

  • Planning and undertaking site inspections and structural investigations.

  • Supporting the implementation of CDM responsibilities and promoting best practice.

  • Using bridge management systems and structural databases.


What we're looking for



  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng or IEng), or actively working towards chartership.

  • Around 5+ years' experience in highway structures or bridge engineering.

  • Strong technical knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete bridge design and assessment.

  • Proven experience delivering highway bridge and civil structures projects.

  • Good working knowledge of DMRB and MCHW standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience reviewing and checking technical work.

  • Commercial awareness, including experience with NEC contracts, budgets and programmes.

  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety responsibilities.
